Greater Manchester throws up a particular mix: dense city-centre sites where mobile networks are already congested by the crowd, and open parkland venues just outside the ring road with almost no infrastructure. Those need opposite solutions. City-centre events usually want a provisioned line or a bonded connection with careful channel planning, because the 4G everyone assumes will work is exactly what fails when 5,000 phones arrive. Parks and showgrounds around the region are usually a Starlink or bonded job.

Where Manchester events actually happen

The pattern we see repeatedly in Greater Manchester is a job that looks like one thing and behaves like another. A city-centre square or a Castlefield site reads as easy because there is infrastructure everywhere, then the 4G falls over the moment a few thousand people arrive and start using it. Meanwhile a parkland venue fifteen minutes out past the ring road reads as difficult and is often simpler, because nobody is competing for the airwaves and the only real question is how far the cable has to go. The Manchester trade-show and arena work is a third category again, where there is usually a house network that was never built for hundreds of simultaneous connections, so the decision is whether to supplement it or bring our own line in and leave theirs alone.
